I was watching Stranger Things Season 5, Episode 3, and at 00:45:36 I noticed a quick shot of a video game running on a TV. I created a few screenshots from that moment:
The scene shows a knight crouching, fire on the ground, a flying creature, tall trees, and a spear in mid-air. These details match what you’d expect from Ghouls ‘n Ghosts or another entry in the Ghosts ‘n Goblins series. The armor and weapon look just like Arthur, and the forest background fits the style of those games.
If you know these games well – does this look like Ghouls ‘n Ghosts to you, or could it be another NES title with a similar style?
I’m curious to hear what others think.
Ghosts ‘n Goblins is instantly recognizable here, and I knew the screenshot the second I saw Arthur charging through the graveyard with his lance. I love how he’s still in full armor, pushing toward that 10,000 top score with 1:48 on the clock.
